“The Ministry of Economy during the last two years was fully dedicated through the available mechanisms to the creation of favorable business climate for development of this sector. Taking to consideration that the mineral resources are one of the basic sectors in the economy which development is significant for the entire economic flows, all by itself is additional confirmation for the justification of the Ministry of Economy and the Government of Republic of Macedonia for creation of conditions for its additional development.

“The largest undoubted confirmation for the achieved on this plan is the results on the field. Namely, pursuant the latest statistical data the growth in the segment of mineral resources presents 6,7% in relation to last year. The number of employees in this sector increased for 8,4% in relation to last year which is direct confirmation that with the measures that we undertook we created direct conditions for opening of new working positions in the sector where already are working more then 10.000 persons in over 120 mines” informed the Minister adding that during the past several months we issued over 100 concession agreements which is growth of over 30%. All of this data clearly point to one successful story in sector which has large potential for additional growth and is of great significance for the Macedonian economy as on local also on national level.

The Ministry of Economy in all of its policies for development of this sector is equally focused on creation of corresponding conditions for work in the mines. All of the regulative that we deliver, emphasized Saraqini, impose application of the highest standards for safety at work and application of new technologies. During the next period we will continue to work at the implementation of policies that will create solid conditions for work of the miners as basic precondition for development of the entire mineral resources sector.

Pursuant the President of the Macedonian association for mining, Nikolajco Nikolov, the mining in the country marks progress since 2005. So far, over 200 registered firms are in this field of work, many of them are successfully privatized and work excellent. The export also improves especially of the mines for metal that are one hundred percent oriented towards the markets abroad.

“In order to have good miners three basic conditions need to be fulfilled: securing regular salary, free meal and working uniforms of European standards”, pointed Nikolov.

The Dean Manov emphasized that Republic of Macedonia is country rich with mineral resources and that we should aspire for their rational use because the mining takes over 35% of the total industrial production.
