Kosove: The development of heavy industry in the country is discussed

The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, and his associates met on 24 July with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo (ACCK) and the Committee of Heavy Industries, with whom they discusses on the development of this sector and the on possibilities for introducing fiscal facilities and application of appropriate strategies that would ensure economic development and double investments.

Present in the meeting were the Executive Director of ACCK, Arian Zeka, Acting Managing Director of Trepça Complex, Halil Çelaj, representatives of Sharrcem, M&Sillosi, Llamkos Galvasteel and other companies.

The Head of MED and business representatives discussed on the possibilities to establish “One Stop Shops” for private sector needs and on the removal of custom duties for the raw materials utilized in heavy industry.

Other issue raised in the meeting was transport costs and finding more suitable alternatives for import/export for local producers, as well as long-term availability of raw materials used for production purposes.
