PM Berisha and President Aliyev discuss for TAP in Baku

Prime Minister Sali Berisha met today morning Mr. Ilham Aliyev at the Office of Azerbaijan President in Baku. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum that is being held in Azerbaijani capital under topic, “Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the South Caucasus and Central Asia”.
President Aliyev and PM Berisha expressed their pleasure at the rapid progress of the friendly relations between our two countries and nations as well as the determination for their further and all-round development. PM Berisha ensured President Aliyev about the government of Albania support to Azerbaijani entrepreneurs interested in investment in Albania.
The discussion on the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) Joint Venture project occupied a special place in the meeting. PM Berisha emplasized that TAP is the most feasible project, the most economic and with the largest and the most guaranteed market.
PM Berisha acquainted President Aliyev with the trilateral agreements that Albania, Italy and Greece have already signed; Albania ratification of these agreements and the determination of our country to fulfil the obligations that stem from these relations and all the contractual agreements relevant to this project. PM Berisha also expressed his high appreciation of the other Balkans countries interest in the TAP project. President Aliyev emphasized that during the coming months the Shah Deniz Consortium is expected to give a final decision choosing between TAP project and Nabucco about transportation of the Caspian gas to Europe and naturally the economic and market criteria will have a prime importance to their decision.
PM Berisha demanded Azerbaijan technical assistance for Albania gasification master plan. President Aliyev pledged his country’s full support to Albania’s gasification master plan and implementation of this project by Azerbaijani enterprises.
The interlocutors discussed during their meeting even on cooperation in the field of tourism, renewable energy and in all the fields of mutual interest.
PM Berisha invited President Aliyev to visit Albania at an appropriate time for him. President Aliyev accepted the invitation with pleasure.
