Marked the start of the construction of the first HPP in the municipality of Tearce

The Minister of Economy Valon Saraqini visited yesterday the municipality of Tearce where was promoted the start of the construction of one of the four small hydro power plants, constructed by the company SOL HIDROPOWER DOOEL-Skopje together with the Mayor of the municipality of Tearce, Isen Hasani and the manager of the firm-investor, Trajce Nikolov.
With this company the Ministry of Economy has signed four agreements for concession for water along the water flow of the river Bistrica where already started the preparation activities for their construction.
“In the municipality of Tearce this concessionaire will construct in total 3 small HPPs with total installed capacity of 7,5 MW and the envisaged annual generation is estimated at about 28 GWh and the amount of the investment would present about 15 million Euros”, informed Saraqini adding that pursuant the obligations from the concession agreements, the concessionaire will make payment of annual concession fee in the amount of 2% of the realized income from the sold electricity and starting from 2016, 50% of these 2% will be aimed for the budget of the municipality of Tearce.
Into direction of the local and regional development, the Ministry of Economy signed also four Concession Agreements for water for construction of four small HPPs on the river Ordanska with the companies SUPER NOUVA ENERGY DOOEL Tetovo and EMK Small hydro power plants DOOEL Skopje with total installed capacity of 3,4 MW, the expected annual generation of about 14 GWh and amount of the investment of € 7 million.
“With the construction of these 7 small hydro power plants in the municipality of Tearce will be invested over € 22 million during the next 2-3 years. The construction activities which are about 70% of the investment will be realized from the domestic local companies and that will revive the local economy. Certainly, we also expect new employments as in the phase of construction of the small HPPs also in the phase of maintenance when the same will be put into function”, emphasized the Minister of Economy.
Isen Hasani, the Mayor of the municipality of Tearce emphasized that this is historic moment for the municipality as for the first time is invested in projects with value over € 22 million addressing gratitude to the Ministry of Economy and the investor.
Trajce Nikolov, manager of the firm SOL HIDROPOWER in Republic of Macedonia emphasized that this is the best example for the cooperation among the investors, the local government and the central government in respect of realization of one project.
From the total of 70 signed Concession Agreements for small HPPs with installed capacity of 60 MW and investment that is estimated of about € 120 million at the moment are constructed in total 11 small HPPs and the same already produce electricity and transmit it in the grid, also under construction are another 20 small HPPs and the same are expected to be set in use by the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014.
