SOCAR President receives Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha

On April 8, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev met with Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha, being on a visit to Azerbaijan within the framework of the World Economic Forum on Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the South Caucasus and Central Asia. Welcoming the guest, Mr. Abdullayev spoke about developing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Albania.
Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha pointed out the importance of economical relations, and in particular, significant contributions of cooperation in the oil and gas sector to bilateral partnership. He also emphasized importance of the World Economic Forum in the profound economic relations among the countries. The guest also showed interest in issues conducted for Azerbaijani natural gas transportation to Europe and expressed the concern of his country in the realization of TAP Project.
In turn, SOCAR President spoke about the evaluation stage of TAP and Nabucco routes for transportation of Azerbaijani natural gas to Europe, and mentioned that final decision would be made in the second half of 2013.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Albania.
