Montenegro announcing their first offshore hydrocarbons licensing round

Earlier this month, the Ministry of Economy of Montenegro published an official announcement inviting oil and gas companies to apply for the licensing round that will remain open for tenders from 7th August until the 28th February 2014. This seems to be an opportunity with great potential for the oil and gas companies looking to invest into the region as the tender invitation covers a completely unexplored offshore area of 3.191 km² with 13 blocks in total to be awarded.

Hon. Vladan Dubjevic, Deputy Minister of Economy in Montenegro will be at the 2nd Balkans Oil & Gas Summit on 24th – 25th September at the 5* Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens to present the new tender opportunities for national and international oil companies looking to get involved in the hydrocarbon exploration in the country with exciting fiscal terms and a promising oil and gas landscape.

Here you can see the officially published map from the Ministry of Economy of Montenegro focusing on the area that the next licensing round will cover.

The map illustrates:
The blocks for award of the concession contract for production of hydrocarbons are shaded with horizontal lines
The green line shows that the area is 2-3 km from the shoreline
The red line shows the border at sea with the Republic of Albania and Italian Republic respectively.

The 2nd Balkans Oil & Gas 2013 Summit is the place to be in order to get involved in the Balkans region, meet the Ministers, and every key player already operating in the region.

Our expert speaking panel also includes representatives from Spectrum, the company that has been exclusively contracted to acquire multi-client 2D seismic data offshore Croatia by the Croatian Ministry of Economy.

Don’t miss our next newsletter with an in-depth interview from Spectrum about their new project and join us at the 2nd Balkans Oil & Gas Summit to meet them as well as the Deputy Minister of Economy, Hon. Alen Leveric, to personally discuss the Ministry’s plans to hold a licensing round over its offshore continental shelf in 2014.
