Concession of Cerrik plant The concession of the oil refinery in Cerrik is being surrounded by strong legal suspicions since the official documents showed that the government has violated a court verdict.

On July 8th, the Ministry of Economy declared as winner of the concession the Kurum Company, and the decision was sued at court by another company participating in this tender. On July 22nd, the Court of Tirana ordered the suspension of this concession for legal irregularities.

This is the official decision taken by Judge Artur Gaxhi, who obliged the government to stop the concession right away until the legal problems are clear. The government was officially notified for this decision on July 23rd. There is also an announcement from bailiffs for stopping the concession, which has been communicated by the Ministry of Economy on this date. The government has continued with the procedures by approving the agreement with Kurum one day earlier.

The Court of Tirana clarifies that the government refused the entire judicial process in the beginning. According to the decision, the Ministry of Economy has refused to sign an appeal and to appear in court. As Judge Gaxhi writes, this Ministry has abusively tried to postpone the trial by presenting fake claims.
