Cooperation between Kosovo and the EnCT Secretariat evaluated in positive notes

The Minister of Economic Development Besim Beqaj received on 18 March the Director of the Energy Community Treaty Secretariat, Mr. Janez Kopac, with whom he discussed on the implementation of concrete projects in the sphere of energy and on the obligations deriving from the third EU package.
Minister Beqaj used the occasion to inform Mr. Kopac on developments in the energy sector in the country, underlining developments related to the privatization of KEDS, and construction of TPP Kosova e Re and Hydro Power Plant Zhur.
Minister Beqaj emphasized that the plan to amend and harmonize laws with the third EU package on the energy sphere is being prepared.
For his part, Mr. Kopac praised the cooperation between Kosovo and the Energy Community Treaty Secretariat to date, and underscored that Kosovo is the first signatory party of the treaty to have submitted the plan for harmonization and amendment of laws with the third EU package on time.
Mr. Kopac agreed that the issue of KOSTT’s complaint regarding Serbia’s illegal interferences will be reviewed in the upcoming meeting of energy ministers of the Energy Community Treaty signatory parties.
