ERE hands five licences for power production

There is an increasing interest for the power supply market in Albania, where Energy Regulatory Authority authorizes on a monthly basis new actors for different activities in the field.

Only in March three new licenses have been granted to various companies while the process has started regarding two others.

Several days ago, two licenses for power trading activity have been granted to ENPI Energy, and BALKAN Energy Trade. 

A third company, Energy Universe, is licensed in the activity of electricity production from the hydro power plant Kabash, which has an installed power of 5800 kilowatts.

In addition to these licenses, ERE has opened proceedings on the request of another company, Grid Energy, which has requested licenses to opeerate in the energy supply and trading.

Completing the market with new licensed operators facilitates conditions for the initiative taken in relation to liberalization of the market, but also for the operation of an Energy Stock Market which will consist of many listed companies.
